A cover letter tells the hiring manager two things. The first is for whom the cover letter and resume is intended and where to send it. It you know someone in the company that can help recommend you for the job then send a copy of the cover letter and resume to that person and mention his or her name. The second is your knowledge of the company and your desire to work for the company. You can find the material you need can be found through pamphlets, career service offices, the company’s website, newspapers, or magazines.
